Yeah the book was great! But my comic book store didnt have any fucking rings <_< Did anyone get the new Green Lantern Corps. issue? In my opinion that was just as kickass.
A ring? Damn.
Anyway, I really liked it.
The first half was basically:"Look at all these dead people!"
And then The Zombie Dibny's showed up. And then it was awesome.
Also, who picked up the Tales of the Corps? Did anyone think that it sucked?
I liked the Indigo story most and that's mostly due to Rags Morales art and it was a corps we haven't seen yet. The other stories were "okay". Not worth the four dollars.
Rag's art is awesome, no question. But even after seeing the Indigo tribe for the first time, you didn't learn much of anything. That whole story was left rather ambiguous regarding the Indigo's powers. I'm just glad that I borrowed it from a friend, rather than it coming out of my pocket.
They seem to be amplifiers of other corps.
Oh, and the girl mercy killed the Green Lantern.
Also, did Saint Walker seem pretty much dead?
And one more thing, Blackest Night really seems like a DC Universe event. And it naturally seems focused on the Black Lanterns.
So how are all the other corps going to be fitted into the story? It seems like a seperate threat.
The other corps seem like such a natural fit seeing as they represent different emotions and the black lanterns seem to be after them. Also there are going to be plenty of comics that flesh out all the stuff so I don't think it will have any problem fitting in the story.
I thought the transition from a Green Lantern story to a DCU event might hurt the pacing and such but I was very impressed with the balance and how deliberate the first issue went. I think Johns is going to pull this off.
