As it turns out, the rumors are true! You do play as a rogue big daddy (the first one ever made apparently, yet this is still a sequel). You get to either harvest or adopt little sisters while fighting other big daddies and big sisters.
All of this is a VERY elaborate April Fools joke. No one should take info announced on an April issue of GameInformer (or any video game publication) seriously. April is notoriously known for elaborate pranks in the video game industry.
I am aware that someone from 2K Games said it's all true but who's to say they can't be in on the joke too? If they wanted the info to be taken seriously, they'd have picked a more appropriate time for it. It's all about E3, not GameInformer in April.
I wouldn't hold your breath for any of this info till after April Fools Day.
I thought that at first too but I don'tbelieve it at all now. All the work they've done on the magazine and on somethinginthesea.com is way too much information to all be taken away in one day. It would be quite the elaborate but feeble joke. Also the Game Informer issue is out this week in stores. It wouldn't make sense to give people that information for up to two weeks to discuss and salivate over just to say "Haha gotcha!"
If there were a little humorous blurb with one cockamamie screenshot in Game Informer then I would see that as a fun little joke to have with people. A full blown article and a site http://somethinginthesea.com on the other hand? That's a little much.
Who's to say half of it is a joke and the other half isn't? That article in GameInformer seems really fishy.
Either way, when they decide to release info on a more serious date then I'll take the info more seriously. I won't say I told you so if it turns out to be a joke but be prepared for it ;)
I agree, this is WAAAAAAY too elaborate for Game Informer, plus none of their pranks make cover (I don't think). Sonic and Tails in SSBM was an altered screenshot, Mushroom Kingdom Hearts wasn't on the cover and I know they didn't write a whole article about it and the Legend of Zelda movie trailer (while fucking awesome) had nothing more released on it than the trailer.
Yeah, I highly doubt this is a prank, although I will be kicking myself if it is....
Hollywood Reporter has released its Top 10 movie flops of this decade. These were all big budget high profile films that made meagre returns, not to mention making those few moviegoers who saw them cringe.
