Big Screen Sci-Fi Adaptations You'd Be Keen To See?
Hey_
After the greatness that was District 9, catching The Thing on tv last night, as well as remembering cartoons from my youth; I decided to broach the following question to the Spill community:
What sci-fi property would you like to see adapted for the big screen? Medium of origin is of no importance.
Personally, I think Exosquad would make for an intriguing space opera.
For those not familiar with Exosquad, a couple of videos and bits of info:

The Neosapien leader Phaeton was often compared to Adolf Hitler
Exosquad had a very serious approach to the plot with several intertwined narrative threads and a number of characters displaying a full spectrum of human emotions, relationships and experiences, such as friendship, love, hatred, personal tragedies, treachery and taking responsibility for others. Michael Edens, the story writer and editor in the second season, credited the show's realism for much of its success.[4] Prejudice and racism are recurring themes in the series,[5] as both Terrans and Neosapiens are shown to harbor hatred and a sense of superiority towards each other. Interplanetary politics and space war typical for military science fiction were presented with an assumption of the fictional future history of the Solar System up to that point. The Able Squad's duties became more spread out as the second season unfolded, and there were separate story arcs on Mars, Venus, Earth, and in space. Espionage and intrigue were often featured instead of straightforward battles.
Not to mention the toys were cool...

Like to see Dean Koontz's Lightning turned into a movie. However with the way his other books have turned out in movie form it might not be a good idea. Lightning is about how Hitler has found a way to time travel and is sending SS into the future to find a way to win the war. One of his SS sees and falls in love with a girl who is wheel chair bound so he tries helping her out by keeping her out of the wheel chair. However fate keeps stepping in and putting her back in the wheel chair by having something else happen to her. So he continues to help her and Hitler and the SS seem to think he has alternative motives for helping her out so they try to kill both him and her. So they end up on the run from time traveling nazis.

Supposedly, they're adapting The Husband into a film, but I haven't heard much about that one (as far as I know, it's in development hell). I'd like to see Life Expectancy adapted, or Midnight.

Life Expectancy is about a guy who is born on the exact same day that his grandfather dies and right before his grandfather dies he predicts his birthweight and that he will have a birth defect and then gives five dates in the future that will dramatically effect his life for the worst but does not say exactly what will happen. By the way, it is nothing like the movie Knowing.
Midnight is probably my favorite Koontz novel after Watchers. It's about some people trying to survive in a small California town after a megalomaniacal computer scientist starts injecting the citizens with these nanomachines that are designed to eliminate their free will and give him complete control over their actions, but the nanomachines produce other, less desirable, results, as well (monstrous transformations and violent behavior),
