Best story in a game (or game series).

I thought that MGS4 was a little pretentious and was bogged down so much by backstory that the game came to a snail crawl.

While The Lost and Damned is a close second, my favorite would have to be Bioshock. So many twists and turns and underlining themes and metaphors of humanity, government, and freedom.

The only difference is that Bioshock doesn't shove it down your throat by taking 45 minutes of cutscenes to explain it.

I was gonna say Metal Gear! The stories in those games rock. I also got really into Resident Evil 4's story, as well as Shadow of the Colossus. I like all the Zelda games best though, I think.
