Don't agree, but that's opinions for ya. Myself, I still think Gladiator was entirely mediocre. I know Leon is with me on that one as well.

I really like Gladiator, and am glad it won Best Picture. However, I'd prefer to have seen Jaoquin Phenoix take Best Supporting Actor instead of Russell Crowe getting Best Actor. Or maybe both, I don't remember what the other nominations were that year.

Titanic was kind of medioce to me but finally the money pic won best pic. people say that just because it made money doesnt mean it was good. if word of mouth propels a movie ti big money then it's good.

I like Gladiator, but again I don't know if it were best picture material. I also thought Russel Crowe didn't deserve the best actor award either, I thought he deserved it more for A Beautiful Mind, but oh well. For the longest time I was very bitter that Shakespear in Love won over Saving Private Ryan,and to this day, (although I actually maned up, or is that womaned down jk) to watching Shakes, and actually enjoyed it, SPR still should've won hands down.

I really think Saving Private Ryan deserved it. As well as Gladiator. Most films that have been nominated in recent years have been good, but the winners have been wrong in many ways. For example last year, No Country for Old Men really did not deserve Best Picture, but then There Will be Blood didn't either, they were all great, but they weren't oscar caliber. In addition; there isn't any public vote to the Oscars, so it's just the opinions of a movie elite, so it's pretty much impossible to please everyone.

You do realize that Shakespeare In Love beat out Saving Private Ryan for best picture?

The worth of the award plummeted that night. They're fast becoming completely irrelevant.

What movie in your opinion deserved the Oscar for best picture in 2007?

I can't think of one off the top of my head but I do like Saving Private Ryan alot more then Titanic.

I really have to disagree with you on Tianic. But that is a different discusion. I believe that all movies that get the award or are nominated get that award because they deserve it. Movies don't get nominated by pulling a name out of a hat the movie that people voted for and loved is what wins. So if people are saying that a movie is oscar or other award winner then that means it's good.
