Bond?
I'll grant you the "Connery years", but think the over all series got too "campy" during the "Dalton years" that hurt it.
However, thinking of it as going about making movies for 40years, and still being able to draw movie-goers into the theaters, Bond DOES have some serious muscle.
I think you mean it got campy during Roger Moore's stay with the franchise, to the point of the films feeling like live action cartoons.
Timothy Dalton's two films with the franchise may have been a lot of things, but I don't think "camp" springs to mind when discussing either The Living Daylights or License To Kill.
Personally, I thought Dalton was a pretty badassed Bond. He just got involved at a horrible period in time for the franchise as a whole.
At the same time, Roger Moore did have his charms...
I think Roger Moore was just reprising his role from The Saint. I could never take him seriously as Bond. The stories didn't help. James Bond became a charicature of himself with Moore. But I've got to agree with you on Dalton. It was just the wrong time. I think people were, as a whole, looking for something more gritty in the late eighties. Dalton is still my second favorite Bond, though.
really, it didn't bother you that John McClain went from being a foul-mouthed everyday street cop in the first movie to an PG-13 indestructible karate superhero in the fourth one. I don't disagree with you on the first movie, and the second was good. The third was kinda fun, but that last one was fucking ridiculous.
First of all John McClain never did karate. ANd as far as the dirty mouth goes, it didn't bother me very much. And if you watch the uncut version you can get the good old foul mouthed McClain. The movie itself to me was a really fun ride though.
Define "best"
By Hollywood standards, it's the almighty buck, meaning the most profitable is "best". Considering no profitable franchise will ever die, and this post is about contiuation not stand-alone, it seems fair...
So I just started watching this show on Hulu, and this show is up there with Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia so far. I am not really that big into football but the show is written to still be hilarious even if you don't u know football too well. It…
