TheDVDGrouch posted a blog postIt is hard to believe that it was over twenty years ago when i first read Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns". It inspired my interest in art, reading, and writing. I would not be the creative individual i am today without such important influences and this one is one of the big roots my desire to become a author of character driven fiction.
A slightly early review of the movie as it is not due out in stores until this coming Tuesday. However; i was lucky enough to watch it early, and i must say it is a brilliant re-imagining of the classic graphic novel. Not everyone has read the origional, and while i recommend that you go buy it; the movie is it's own work of art.It gives me nostalgic thrills and satisfied a long awaited childhood cry inside demanding such a brilliant work of art be given its chance to shine.
No spoilers though , but sufficed to say that Robocop voicing the main lead of batman is very convincing. The animation staff does a great job choosing how and what to translate to animation, fills in the action perfectly and leaves out nothing fans would demand. I am looking forward to put this on my shelf right next to avengers once i buy them both on Tuesday Sept 25th. I can't wait for part 2 which should be out within the coming year.
