The new Avengers vs x-men is coming out in April, and it looks like it will be epic. But I haven't read any Marvel comics yet, I've mainly stuck to DC, Dark Horse, and Image (mainly for the walking dead). But I wanna know if I can get the Avengers vs x-men story arc without being confused about continuity or if they allude to other things I haven't read yet. So do you guys think I should get it, do you think it will be good? If not to either of those, why? Thanks if you answer, I wanna get at least this story arc from Marvel. So please give me your advice.

No. The event will most likely be a complete waste of paper and forgettable by the end of this year. Plus there is no way if you have not caught up with the marvel universe in any way that you will understand what is going on.

Waste of Paper and forgettable? You mean like The "New" 52?

Okay, thanks. So I won't feel like I'm missing out on anything. So I take it that Marvel hasn't been that good lately?

Not necessarily. For example Wolverine and the x-men is a good book to check out, even if you have not caught up with the series. All you need to know is that wolverine runs the school. Other good marvel books include venom Ultimate Spider-man and Daredevil

It looks to be stupid fun. Plus, a lot of Marvel's top talent are working on it.

Give it a shot. If you don't like the first issue, don't pick up the second.

I have liked the 1st issue . . . have you?

Yeah, it was fun.

After reading the first two issues, I say no.

I'm passing on this event. Its really the aftermath that matters

Just wait for the trade paperbacks and read them. If they impress you, buy them to show your support.

I've liked it so far, I would suggest reading up on the latest happenings in Marvel before checking it out though.
