Attack the Block Could Get a Sequel, American Remake, or TV Series

Attack the Block Could Get a Sequel, American Remake, or TV Series

Attack the Block may continue with a sequel, remake, or TV series
Attack the Block has built up a devoted fan base since its theatrical release in late July, with many "Blockheads" already asking for a sequel. Director Joe Cornish revealed there are several ideas in play for a follow-up, one of which comes from star John Boyega. Here's what Joe Cornish had to say about John Boyega's Attack the Block sequel idea.

"[He] keeps coming up with amazing ideas. He has this image of a bigger alien attack on London, as if the attack we saw inAttack the Block was just the [first] wave and there's another wave of bigger creatures. And he described to me this image of Moses leading a whole army of hood kids across the Thames, next to the houses of Parliament. No, his image was even better. He had an image of Moses on a police horse. You know the police in London who have those horses they use in riots...somehow Moses has got onto one of those horses. So he's on a horse leading this army of South London kids across the river to take on this bigger wave of aliens. So yeah it's really fun to think of stuff like that and what we could do."

Joe Cornish also indicated there have been discussions about not only a sequel, but an American remake and a TV series as well.

"We've had approaches for a remake and a sequel. We've had approaches for a TV show to spin off it. But it's very early days, you know. So it's not out of the question but very early days, and I'd certainly like to do something different for my next thing if I get a chance to do a next thing."

I doubt a sequel will happen. The movie was a financial flop.

True but it gained a cult following and won so many awards..what studio will deny a sequel

What studio would deny it a sequel? Probably the one that lost over seven million dollars making the first movie...

Too bad Disney didn't produce it then.

If they make a sequel, the better have a really good idea for one.  Unless they have one, this is a movie that would be better off as a standalone.  I would like to see more roles come up for John Boyega, though.  He deserves credit for his performance in the movie.

agreed but <3 ATB

Never cared for the film. Even so, i agree with jason, i think this should stay just as a movie.

I don't see how an american remake could work, so much of what made that movie great was the setting. What's the american equivalent of "South London" housing project? What's the american equivalent of London street slag?

And WTF? "Moses on a police horse" that sounds stupid, why would a inner-city kid get on a horse when he could just steal a car. How would he even know how to ride a horse? Also the movie wrapped up nicely at the end, no need for a sequel.

An American remake for Attack The Block? Please don't

Then what about an Indian?
