Are we sick of Vampires yet?
I know I am..but for some reason America isnt.. My fears probably stem from a horror book I thought I could handle reading when I was 7 years old and still to this day cant sleep by windows lol. I'm not exactley afraid of vampires anymore but I am afraid of them killing my theatres and television with their over exposure. I've already seen more then my share of Vampire trailers this year. I wonder when this fad will end; I wonder if anyone else on this site feels the same way. Being the season for these types of films..well scary ones I would be ok with it but I saw a trailer for a preteen vamp/comedy? with John C Reilly Called The Assistant Vampire or something and cant believe that the Vampire genre has already been diluted enough to go into the"should be made for dvd/trash bins".
If i'm out of line let me know.. but I'm sick of these, as far as i'm concerned the only good Vamp movie was Interview with a vampire. So let me know your thoughts. Thanks for reading a sort of rant lol.

I cannot recommend this film enough. It just came out last year and is probably the best vampire film I've seen.

Vampires have always been popular in monster movies along with zombies, werewolves, ect. It's because nearly every culture in the past has had myths on some variation of them. It's a deep-rooted primal fear humans have.
Today, vampires have been completely romanticized in popular culture, which will never happen with zombies and werewolves, so you could say they've strayed from their classic roots and aren't scary anymore (Twilight being the extreme example).
Yeah, there's been a surge of vampire popularity that will pass, but it's mostly romance instead of true vampire horror.

Sadly, werewolves have gotten the romantic treatment, too, but zombies haven't (thank God).
Our society's infatuation with dark supermen troubles me, because I think it reflects our lust for power and beauty. I think the chick in Twilight was a complete narcissist, and what's just as disturbing is how a lot of the Twitards seem to exhibit those same narcissistic tendencies.

a great movie where werewolves aren't romantic is Ginger Snaps (well they are a little more in the third movie but not in the first two) ... man i looove this movie :P

Are you kidding? That time Ginger almost jumped Brigitte? Romance at it's fullest power. (I kid, but that was pretty hot) And I love the alot movie too.

i am NOT and NEVER will be sick of vampires... i love vampires... i hate the Hype there is now because of Fucking Twilight. But vampires are awesome.

° Bram Stoker's Dracula (Haven't seen the movie in practically a decade but i'm reading the book and it's great)
° Buffy The Vampire Slayer
° The Upcoming Daybreakers
° The Forsaken
etc. there are so many of them that i am convinced are worth seeing, but i haven't seen yet.

A new Heroes was on tonight and we had a great action packed episode. What I thought was a good episode worthy of the last one of the year. We even got a Peter-Sylar fight, something every fan has been clam-mering for since the end of season one.
