I've noticed this recently that these two subjects have gone from a mer whispered to public debate. In just a month two states have legalized same sex marriage and another one is putting forward the bill.
Now marijuana has gained great momentum.
Let me be clear about this. I have never smoked marijuana. But just because I don't do something doesn't mean I can't be for its legalization. The war on drugs has failed in every country that has one. Right now in the States roughly 52% of criminals were convicted for possession or use of the drug.
I am going to start by saying, why the hell does it matter? gay, straight, bi, if you truly love someone, then you should be able to have a bond with them. None of this biblical crap, the bible says alot of things, you cant cut your hair, you cant eat clams, you cant touch a dead pig. its all bullshit, complete and udder bullshit. and i am sick and tired of the marijuana restrictions, if you look it up, it was all caused by racism, and heavy conservative propoganda. I am sick of the lies that spew from hardcore republicans and democrats and christians and cops and lawyers and all those other slimey necrophiliacs who would skullfuck their grandmothers corpse. grow a pair if you are offended by this and reply, i will prove you are an asshole. but go ahead. (and i know in the constitution it says that marriage is a part of the states power, not the fedral power.)
well, it is the 21st century, you know. sadly people believe in the strangest of things, like a BOOK written by men who lived only with other men...it isnt an instruction manual..it is an allegorical fairytale....in my opinion any way. and btw Iron man..come outta that closet...
I'm immensely for the legalization of marijuana and for Alternative Marriages. There's not much else I got to say on it. I mean, they're both no-brainers. Anyone with half a brain and an internet connection could tell you Alcohol and Tobacco are far more detrimental in various ways than pot is. And deeming Gay people as inferior because of something an ancient, unreliable text says is ludicrous at best.

1) Drugs....
First off, put them under the FDA's restriction. Meaning, that they will be of a specific QUALITY to be placed on the shelves, that you are TAXED for growing, TAXED for purchasing, and then regulated to When/Where you can use them. Treat it just like alcohol. It's legal to drink (at a certain age) legal to purchase (at a legal age) and distillers have their own special regulations to manufacture. However, if you are in position of being behind the wheel of a vehicle under the influences, you can be fined, imprisoned or loss of license. Make it a RESPONSIBILITY of the user to use the drugs in a controlled setting. Companies can continue to fire people that are abusing them, like they can a DRUNK. Police are still able to find "open containers" in vehicles... JUST LIKE OPEN BEER CANS. Places that sell can REFUSE to sell if they deem you had TOO much, just like beer/wine stores. You can be refused possession in PUBLIC areas, like some parks and buildings restrict alcohol. You treat the drug just like you do anything ELSE that is legally obtainable that effects the body's motor-skills, or debilitates the mental/social capacity of people in a public setting. (JUST LIKE ALCOHOL)
2) Same-Sex Marriage....
Quite simple solution. REMOVE the GOVERNMENT requirement to getting a LICENSE TO MARRY. Once THAT obstacle is removed from the equation everything else falls apart. Instead of needing to go to the government with your hat in hand BEGGING for a piece of paper that you PAY for, that you APPLY for, and that is REGULATED BY THE GOVERNMENT, then you remove the whole argument about who is and isn't allowed to be married to who. If you go to Place A and they tell you "Not here", then you go to Place B and so forth till someone says "Okay, sure.". AFTER you are married, wed, union-ed, partnership-ed, companions, team, flock, WHATEVER it's called you are presented a piece of paper AFTER the ceremony is complete saying that you have been officially recognized by someone AS a couple, and no longer seeking approval BEFORE.
This will remove the public "outcry" about equal rights because it's something that gets recognized AS a union of people that WANT to be wed together. It removes the "outcry" because if your "LOCAL" population doesn't want it it's because the MAJORITY in that area don't want it, NOT because it's dictated by LAWS passed by people not living in that Town, County, or District. It removes the "outcry" because you are eligible for the "same rights" as other married couples because that piece of paper says that you ARE married. It removes the "anger" of groups because if they don't want it, then LOCAL officials will not provide the service. (But, you can ALWAYS find someone willing to go with the minority opinion and providing a location) It removes the whole "Push" by same-sex couples trying to ENFORCE their opinions on everyone else that DOESN'T want it, because it's a PRIVATELY HELD EVENT and no longer a public-battle. You find someone that you love, and they love you, then you should be able to get married no matter the sexual makeup of that couple. BUT that does NOT mean you have to make a public battle about it if it's a PRIVATE issue.
Marijuana.
I'm more in favor of marijuana being legal but there are many future problems that need to be solved before marijuana can ever be legal. But as for the huge push towards making marijuana legal, it's been there for a very long time. Like the past 8+ years.
Gay Marriage.
Where have you been? The push for Gay Marriage has been around since Bush first got into office, even before that there was a huge Gay Marriage movement!
