Is it just the "atheist" moniker you have a problem with? I wonder if that's what the camp representatives consider themselves to be or if it's just what they were branded as in the news story. If so, I think it could be called something else and still get the main idea across.
Yeah, children are always exploited for propaganda. Camps that involve religion usually see the kids like little sponges. Someone's beliefs shouldn't forcefully influence individuals around them.
