I actually know libraries where they do allow cellphones. The way she brings it up is like a common courtesy, but she doesn't specifically say whether or not it's something enforced by the library staff. Still, if someone is really a problem, you can tell the person to be more quiet or go get a librarian to speak to the person (which people never seem to do). There usually are also quiet study rooms that you can reserve. The door can be closed and locked with a key. I can't say for sure whether UCLA does this or not, but even my tiny school offers that for students.

im gonna find this girl and give her a hug...i really don't understand why I heard about this on the news this morning.
What she's actually saying isn't wrong, it's the choice of forum and manner in which she says it. These issues shouldn't be addressed by means of a public video, and as much as she tries to cover it there's a clear racist undercurrent present here. She really needed to choose her words more carefully, since at one point she seemed to suggest the cellphone problem has only started since the tsunami.
I'm find more ignorance in the thread title than the content.

The manner in which she decided to "address" her problems with Asian students is less ignorant than me and the sixty-four thousand plus people on youtube(i know, not much credibility but still) and news sites like the huggington post labeling her ignorant? Even the University spokespearson called the video "repugnant".

Here is a link-http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/14/alexandra-wallace-racist-v...

You have Google don't ya? You find the other links yourself.

I can understand her being upset about the library thing and such but she KNOWS that Asians have different family practices and she still couldn't give a shit because she wants them out simply because they are not like her. That is called being ignorant. Unless there is another definition that i am not aware of.

Rather than leave an intelligent, well thought out response to this girl's video, I'm just gonna leave the following:

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBS
Is this girl famous?  Why do people care what she thinks anyway?  She's clearly a dumbass who hasn't been spent a lot of time with people outside her race.
