How about Daniel Day-Lewis for playing Christy Brown in My Left Foot. The film is from 1989 and he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. And also Leonardo DiCaprio for playing Howard Hughes in The Aviator, film from 2004. Going on Russell Crowe as John Nash Forbes, Jr. in A Beautiful Mind(2001). Denzel Washington as Rubin "Hurricane" Carter in The Hurricane(1999).
