The Gambler of Fate. posted a status(this is mainly filler so people who are looking at the topics at a quick glanace) So the trilogy is over and everything is resolved (Based on a BIGGER lie than Dark Knight's ending) How long before they start optioning John Blake/Robin/Nightwing Solo movie as a continuation of Nolan's Trilogy?

Permalink Reply by The Halfrican on July 20, 2012 at 5:44pm BATMAN BEYOND eh eh it could work
Permalink Reply by Arsène Lupin the Third on July 20, 2012 at 5:47pm NO! Terry is Beyond, the whole entire permise of beyond is to have it set up substantially in the future, also the city doesn't need another batman. Plus, we need to focus on someone without the "Batman" name but inside the batman family such as Robin, Nightwing or Red Hood/Robin Even Batgirl and Batwoman would do.
Permalink Reply by IAmDeadpool on July 20, 2012 at 5:53pm i'd say 2015. its strange how hollywood has started this trend of getting us to see the same blockbusters every year. Amazing Spiderman, Man of Steel, Batman Begins... again
Permalink Reply by Arsène Lupin the Third on July 20, 2012 at 6:00pm It's not getting us to see anything ,we choose to see this movies. Also I doubt the next batman will be another batman begins(as bat 66 and bat 89 didn't have the same plot stucture). I don't see Amazing Spider-man really re-treading over any ground Raimi's did beside him making the suit and uncle ben dying. Man of steel from the comic-con trailer(saw a shakey cam verison) looks to be easily a more action packed film than any previous superman.
Permalink Reply by Lyncath on July 20, 2012 at 6:01pm No, for the love of god no.
This was a good series, let it be consigned to the history of "Good Trilogies".
Permalink Reply by Arsène Lupin the Third on July 20, 2012 at 6:12pm Lyncath, the thing is the Dark Knight triology is the dark Knight Triology however this could set up it's own weird pseudo-sequel series following John Blake's character during his career (something Nolan seemly left wide open for someone else to explore) not being batman or anything like that but a Robin/Nightwing figure. It's one of those things you can ignore if you want, since it will most likely be handled by a different creative team; while it's connected to the Dark Knight Trilogy by the character and setting of Gotham, it's as much so as the Gotham Knight animated movie.
Permalink Reply by Samuel on July 20, 2012 at 6:12pm I hope the Batman reboot is actually just a continuation. They lied to us about Talia not being in it, for all the good it did them, I figured it out the moment Bane said to corporate guy "Everything is going as planned", and they slightly lied to us about Robin (And by the way, three cheers for Co-Host predicting this during the Inception review, long before JGL was cast in the untitled Batman 3 project.
So why couldn't they totally have lied about this and have Superman convince Batman to join JL?
Permalink Reply by Arsène Lupin the Third on July 20, 2012 at 6:18pm Because in nolan's world you don't hear about flying men,men running out super speeds, amazon women and aliens from outer space. Nolan's world is self contained to NON powered beings(why there's no Ivy, no Freeze, no Grundy). Also, John Blake accepts that BATMAN(as a icon) is dead, and should remain so.
The batman reboot needs to first a world with empowered beings, also we need bruce and alfred, third we need Batman to be a hero Gotham accepts but doesn't believe is dead.
Permalink Reply by IAmDeadpool on July 20, 2012 at 6:24pm I don't see Nolans batman ever interacting in any capacity with a flying alien who shoots beams from his eyes. They've got to work on making batman less gritty, (or less likely) superman more realistic before they could really sell the idea of a shared DC universe. John Blake as a new batman could pull this off, and I'm sure it would feel like much less of a retread if they had batman as an already established figure in a new batman series.
I wouldn't say anyone really lied to us about robin being in TDKR, he isn't really, its only teased. But yeah, they lied about Talia. But it was a lie so good, I actually bought it till the reveal. If I may quote the prestige : "Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you'renot really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled."
Permalink Reply by Arsène Lupin the Third on July 20, 2012 at 6:29pm They can sell a dark knight level gritty batman just have to make him less realistic(have some way he can heal from all the wounds he has without fucking his body up as much as he did in Dark Knight Rises' opening). You can have a new batman series with him established much like the previous film series had him semi established( 89 he was set up somewhat already when the film began, as more of an urban legend).
