War of the Worlds had to be one of the worst experiences of my movie going life... I'm fully amazed by the spectacle that Spielberg created, only to have that ridiculous happy ending that made my stomach turn. Seriously? The whole world is basically wiped-off the map, but Tom Cruise's family was just sitting in the middle of Boston without a scratch? That proves Carlyle's point that a bad movie can be rectified by a great ending, but a great movie can be killed by a horrible ending.
There was a list I read a while back of the worst movie endings ever, and the guy just put "Steven Spielberg" as one of them, and I kind of agree... For the greatness of the majority of his movies, there hasn't been a movie with an ending that made me go "Wow, that was the perfect way to end that one"
I just hated it so much I rant about it whenever someone starts a "what did you hate' thread. The complaint is identical, the wording is slightly different. Pay attention, son!
Scariest film ever made......my arse.
I would like to start of with a story, about May time, I went to the cinema to watch Drag me to Hell, 15 mins into the film I walked out, as I found it too scary. What relevance does this have you ask. Well...
Well...I'm bored. I came home and turn on the T.V. and saw some christmas shit on and when I logged on to my myspace page I saw this person status update saying how many more days until Christmas.
So with that I decided to do my favorite Christma...
