Pro wrestlers becoming actors ?

I think they're always actors on or off the ring. Wrestling is real but at the same time it's scripted.

But do you think that their movies are any good ? I mean really , take the rock for example he went from being a bad ass in the ring to working with disney .
I think some of them are having some personality confics .
Oh and some of them are good actors in the ring but not all of them .

How good they are really depends on the the type of roles they're given. Remember Andre the Giant from Princess Pride? He played Fezzik, the big guy who hangs around with Inigo Montoya. So that role was appropriate for him.
Though, I always thought that the Rock is not that great of an actor after seeing him in the Scorpion King.

It depends on the film. The Rock is very charasmatic, I have to think that, at some point, a movie is going to come around which plays to his strengths.

Honestly i liked Gridiron gang. But that was more because of the message than the acting in the film. I can see some wrestlers becoming hinchmen in a bond movie. Wouldn't stone cold make a great villian to bond.

I believe that they will never really be in the oscar crowd, but for what they do, they aren't too bad. I quike like The Rock. He's even started going by an actual name now....though I forget what it is. Out of all of them, I think his acting abilities are proving the best.

It's better than when Hulk Hogan tried it, anyway.


Now actors turning into wrestlers....that would be funny.

The Rock's real name is Dwayne Johnson. Look for him in the Get Smart movie coming up.

actors to wrestlers huh? talk about dream matches. These guy most likley will never win critical acclaim but really that doesnt matter. people will go see them. Stone colds not terrible. I also find Kane as a psyco slaughtering beautiful people believable.

Vince McMahon started WWE Films a while back, the rumors saying because he always wanted to be a multimedia giant like his rival Ted Turner. He beat him after Ted took the top spot in TV wrestlinf for some 50+ weeks straight, and then brought out Ted's WCW. Now, he wants to break into movies and music.

Which is fine in my book, but he's using his stable of established wrestlers to creature barely-direct-to-DVD worthy films and putting them into the theaters. He either hires cheap writers or directors...or uses some of the ones on his staff. NOT a good move. Plus, he tends to make the movies an extention of the wrestler's current gimick, and that makes the film feel like a 2-hour promo. He DOES have some acting talent out there, he just needs to learn how to make a movie, not a storyline.
