Offical I Saw Cloverfield Discussion
Well i just got back from cloverfield and i am in shock that was one heck of a movie! first off the theater was empty til about ten minutes befor the movie started and had a good crowd! The begaining of the movie was kinda borning only because there was showing manhattan and the photo of family and then the whole getting ready for the party! After the party started the movie started to get really good when the film guy caught them talking out in the hall and then finding out about the whole beth having sex with the guy who going away! But my favorite moment was on the bridge when the tail of the monster smashes the bridge and the part when there were right below the monster on the street! Overall the movie was good but "better then sex" well i wouldnt go that far. This movie remind me of the haft life gaming series i would love to see it as a video game maybe on pc/xbox360! The only thing i didnt like about this was the cameas jumping around so much it gave me such a headach but other then that the movie was really good and i would love to see it on hdd on a big tv when it comes out on dvd ill be the first to buy it! Tell me what you think those who have seen it!
Note: If you havent seen this movie i would suggest sitting in the middle of the threater because the cameras can cause you problems if your sitting in the front exspecialy with people that can experience epileptic seizures! Just a heads up after reading some people's comments!

The camera didn't bother me at all, but I have heard that complaint before. I thought the Monster was amazing, but It's hard to describe it to someone who hasn't seen the movie, and i think they did that on purpose. The gut busting scene was insane, even from behind the curtain. by then you had a feel for the characters and every death was, in a way, surprising. Also, the whole back story game thing they have going on online is very interesting. if you enjoyed the movie, I recommend checking it out.

Man, I must be weak or something, because exactly 2 minutes into the movie my eyes were already hurting. It's not like I have something against that style of filmmaking, my eyes seriously hurt. I don't know, maybe I sat too close.

The funny thing about the gut busting scene was that, even though it had been in almost every commercial, and I knew it was coming, it still took me by suprise, and was one of the best moments in the film.

One of my friends asked me if the thing that splashed in the water was a satellite or an egg, because there's been some discussion over it.
Either way it would make sense, the satellite crashed because the monster was coming down or the egg hitting the water and hatching a few months later. Either way I think that the monster must be a baby, or that it hatched and was growing underwater, because if the egg was big enough to look like a satellite falling the thing is already huge.
I'm partial to the egg theory though.

It was really good, I would give it a FULL PRICE. It started off a little slow, but picked up really quickly and it was full suspense from there. I haven't seen a BETTER THAN SEX movie since The Lord of the Rings trilogy =P. The ironic thing about it is that the smaller monsters were scarier than the bigger one. Those were crazy! Great film overall.
