If it's crap... We'll tell you

Well i just got back from cloverfield and i am in shock that was one heck of a movie! first off the theater was empty til about ten minutes befor the movie started and had a good crowd! The begaining of the movie was kinda borning only because there was showing manhattan and the photo of family and then the whole getting ready for the party! After the party started the movie started to get really good when the film guy caught them talking out in the hall and then finding out about the whole beth having sex with the guy who going away! But my favorite moment was on the bridge when the tail of the monster smashes the bridge and the part when there were right below the monster on the street! Overall the movie was good but "better then sex" well i wouldnt go that far. This movie remind me of the haft life gaming series i would love to see it as a video game maybe on pc/xbox360! The only thing i didnt like about this was the cameas jumping around so much it gave me such a headach but other then that the movie was really good and i would love to see it on hdd on a big tv when it comes out on dvd ill be the first to buy it! Tell me what you think those who have seen it!

Note: If you havent seen this movie i would suggest sitting in the middle of the threater because the cameras can cause you problems if your sitting in the front exspecialy with people that can experience epileptic seizures! Just a heads up after reading some people's comments!

How does it remind of you half-life?

I thought the movie was good, the monster was disappointing but still cool...and why are you typing so..umm ...well bad? Its not an insult really, its just kind of hard to take your opinion seriously.

I really hope they don't make a video game out of this. Its either going to be a first-person-shooter "shoot the baby cloverfield monsters" for the wii or an an adventure game for the xbox, where you run around manhattan with a dv camcorder. The game comes with a wireless barfbag. The barfbag is needed to keep score.

HEADCRAB: There's no mystery to these, as they haven't changed at all since the original Halflife. When they get close enough to you they pounce causing minimal damage. More a pain in the ass alone, but critical in higher numbers

kinda look like the creatures that came off the monster!

You mean the antlion looks like the mini monsters right? Cus the head crabs..eh not so much.

We have two 10 screen theatres within ten miles of my campus, and both refuse to show this movie due to some contract bullshit. Therefore, if I want to see it, I have to drive at least 2 hours one way to even get in line. I'm absolutely livid.

I saw it and I must say it blew away my expectations. The start of the movie was perfect and it had to be there to intoduce the characters. I'm not going to go into details because I think I'm going to do a review of my own for it but I really have nothing bad to say about it. For me it was perfect...I can't belive I just said that but it's true.

I honestly didn't think it was all that great. I dunno, maybe I had high expectation? I don't generally get scared easily by films either so...

...yeah, plus I play WAY too many video games to convince myself that these creatures looked unique.

*cough*resistence:fallofman*cough*gearsofwar*cough*littlemonsterslooklikestarshiptrooperalienthingys*cough*

Yeah, sorry to sound like a drag. The theatre I was in had only two occupants;

Me, and some hairy bum, who yelled once the credits rolled...

SPOILER ALERT

"That's it? they didn't kill the monster!?"
"...Pfft!"

SPOILER ALERT

I gotta say though, I loved the camera concept, and sure it's short, but what else can you ask for when following a bunch of nobodies from a city filled with Eight Million Earth-Bites.

Bah! I'd give it a full price. If you're hesistant to see this film, then by all means go see it in a theatre with booming sound.

It's no big deal you didn't love it ( I thought the little guys looked like the bugs from star ship troopers aswell) everyone has thier own tastes, it just happened to really suite mine. I loved it but as you mentioned it was the camera concepts and the whole design that really made it great.

Ok, makes sense. They did look really good though, even if they lack originality.

Well...

...that explains everything. Don't gemme wrong, I loved the monsters, I just didn't find them to be somewhat 'new'.

I thought the monster was very original, and it really didn't look like anything I have seen before in a movie. Some of the comparisons you make are spot on, but still, I think Clover was way more unique then you guys are giving him credit for.

I guess it was just the vibe.
