Blind people protest Blindness
Only a months after the "controversy" that was Tropic Thunder and it's use of the the word "retard", a whole new complanit is being lodged with the movie Blindness.

Blindness, opening today, is a movie based on a novel by Nobel Prize-winning author Jose Saramago. The story is about how a city is struck by a virus that renders people blind. It follows a group of people banding together to overcome their situation and so on and so on.
The complaint is being lodged by The National Federation of the Blind becuase the film depicts the blind as "Incompetent, filthy, vicious, and depraved. Unable to do even the simplest things like dressing, bathing, and finding the bathroom." An annoucement made by the NFB stated that its members would protest at cinemas across the nation when the movie opens on October 3.
I just hope they all don't carpool together when they head to the theaters to protest. To be honest, I never even knew that there was a Federation for the Blind. But I guess in this day and age, any and every group has a Federation: Case in point, The National Federation of Flemish Giant Rabbit Breeders Inc. But like that old proverb goes, any press is good press, the NFB's attempts at protesting may only increase curiosity around the film and allow it to do better financially than if they didn't protest.
Go see the movie and tell me what you think, there is a very limited showing in my town, so it's going to be a while before I catch it. Its more than likey going to be whisked away out of the theaters here next week so it can make room for other opening films.

Retards protesting a COMEDY... Blinds protesting a MOVIE they will never see.....Religious nutjobs protesting a movie that expresses ONE person's point of view.
Yeah, no fucking wonder nothing gets done right, people are too busy being OFFENDED about shit that doesn't matter than they are about fixing the problems.

Well, whenever something is offensive to me, it's already decided: well, I probably don't want to see something that offends me, so I won't pay attention to it. Problem solved. I wish people would just grasp this beautiful concept of "not giving a shit" that magically makes you susceptible to anything resembling something offensive. Well, maybe I don't want to watch Soul Plane. So ignore it. Maybe I don't want to watch Religulous. I'll ignore it. It's as simple as, "Hey look! There's a movie I might like."

If you are going to see a 3D movie this year, Avatar is it. I may not be a movie expert but i do know one thing, Avatar is incredible. The way to see this movie is in 3D. In my opinion, if you don't see it in 3D you haven't seen the movie.
