If it's crap... We'll tell you

After watching Korey and co-host 3000 review on lake view terriace i was surprised to see people jumping on korey about his comments.. This issue completly hits home with me being a black women and dating a white guy even in today it seems to have some people angry. Walking down the street and holding hands still get us dirty looks . But its funny the people i get the diry looks from are either black me or black women.
One time my boyfriend took me out shopping as a congrats for getting in to school he was going to buy me a new outfit the store we went to was kinda pricy and when my boyfriend reached for his wallet to pay the lady behind the counter who just happend to be black gave me the nastiest look like if looks could kill i wouldnt be here..its just something i dont understand
So what do you think or belive...or has any one had the same problems with other people ?

It's 2008. This shouldn't even be an issue.

You're right but this will always be an issue. i don't see this changeing for the better at all. I didn't even see the review on this movie yet but just wanted to add don't worry about the looks. people will always look, i'm puerto rican and i get that look when i'm with a black guy or white guy, i get the look when i'm with an older guy, hey i even get the look when i'm walking alone LoL thing is looks don't hurt and you do what makes you happy. Do what my ex did, we got a stare and he scared the crap out of the person and stared right back really hard to see if she liked it, then she turned away embarrassed LOL Looks don't hurt and words don't hurt.

I think that the anonymous capabilities of the internet have hindered our sensitivities towards individuals. It's so easy to lump a person into a group without regarding their rights as a human.
I'll cut the lengthy shit and just say. I hate racism.

Never experienced this problem, or known anyone who has experienced it. I'm Puerto Rican, so I don't really see this a lot. I do understand where Korey was coming from. I have yet to see the film, but now that I know that it's just Samuel L. Jackson being mad because they are a inter-racial couple really doesn't make me want to go see it.

I thought Samuel L. Jackson was just a crazy ass cop who was doing that to them, just because he was crazy. Now that I know the reason, it just sounds dumb. But hell, maybe it is a good movie I haven't seen it yet who knows.

As for inter-racial dating, I believe anyone should date anyoe they want to date. We're all human beings, yet some dumb ass people can't jus see through that. If you care about the person why should looks, race, or even religion matter?

Wish you the best with your BF.

Mankind has always found ways of hurting or hateing his fellow man its mans destructive nature i wish one day that people would stop this, hateing his brother but i think the world may never change its my hope that my generation can change this but i dont know maby my hopes are too far gone but i still hold hope that soon we well put things like behind us .i mean it is 2008 you think we as people would have put this behind us.

You can't claim that ignorant and hateful behaviour is an innate trait of humans and then say that you hope and wish humankind(...) would change itself.
To call upon Nature to explain behaviour is to imply that nature has its own agenda and we are utterly powerless to its will.
If so, it seems futile to hope for any change that is governed by "mans destructive nature" really.

So what's your point?

Reply to This

That it is bollocks to excuse our own poor deliberate behaviour on to our so called collective nature because we are too lazy to take action and too afraid to see our own involvment.

Kizmania, you should be asking HEXX what his point was.

I knew what his point was.... i just wanted you to clarify what you were trying to say, and you did.... and i agree with you.

I wasn't trying to sound condescending i was just curious.

To be fair it is our nature to be fearful of anything different, it's a survival trait that we have developed. It is also in our very nature to be robber, killers and selfish. What makes us better than our nature (which all animals have) is that we can recognizes this and deal with it. We as a culture think that by admitting an already real situation exist we created, well this leads to denial.
