Astonishing X-Men (Warren Ellis)
Ultimate Spider-Man
The Walking Dead
Uncanny X-Men
New Avengers
Scott Pilgrim
How do I get my friend/girlfriend to read comics?
Fables is a good way to start, but they need to give it at least 2 trades before they make a decision.
Buffy. Chicks dig Buffy.
Ultimate Spider-Man is usually a pretty good way to go.
The Sandman - this one is probably the most successful 'gender-crossover' title in a male-dominated medium.
What are the best horror movies around?
These may not be the scariest. They may not even be the best, per se. But they're my favorites in no particular order (and are completely subject to change).
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (the original)
Halloween (the original)
Night of the Living Dead (again, the original)
The Brood
Jacob's Ladder
The Thing (John Carpenter's remake)
The Exorcist
Zombie (Lucio Fulci!)
Bride of Frankenstein
Brides of Dracula
Favorite Video Games:
Mario Kart
Oblivion
Gyruss
Sinistar
System Shock 2
Ico
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
Grim Fandango
The King's Quest series
Chrono Trigger
Star Wars (original arcade)
WarCraft 2
Jason love your open opinions on LEOG. Immortal Iron Fist is awesum jst started reading the 2nd trade and its very very nice. Also from LEOG 19 i picked up what u said was a must read Transmetropolitan vol 1 fantastic.
two questions
1. what was the first ever comic u ever read? mine was volume 1 of The Runaways and do u like Runaways or the ideas that series has.
2. Have u read DMZ by vertigo thats a really gud series if u haven't i wud recommend it it got a few of my mates into comics.
First comic I ever read? I think it was a Star Wars comic from back in the Marvel days. It was GI Joe and early Spider-Man that really got me hooked, though.
Runaways was great early on, but I haven't read it in a while. Bryan Vaughn is one of the best writers working right now.
You know, I read the first issue of DMZ. It was interesting, but not enough to keep me hooked. I remember having a particular problem with the motivations of the main character to stay in the DMZ. It felt kind of forced and unnatural, but I know I'm alone in that opinion.
It's fun, but I don't know that it holds up as well as it used to. The spiky hair is just too distracting! Still, I think it easily qualifies as a cult classic.
Yeah it is kinda kitchy, the vampires look like 80's Metal Heads.
By the way, what is the selling point of Buckaroo Banzai, I am thinking about buying it on Amazon, so I would like to know what makes it great.
Same here, especially the part when Norris' body transforms and his head detaches from his body.
I also liked Steven King's IT thought it is a bad movie but heck, who dose not like a mass murdering clown?
I LOVED "It" ! When I was a kid, my dad and I used to do a lot together. We liked watching scary movies and Stephen King stuff, while rare at that time compared to now, was one of our favorites. We saw the two-day mini-series and while it scared the living hell out of me, the movie was very effective. My dad had the book and it's literally in the bookshelf behind me, but I've never read it. I have a feeling had I read it and then saw the movie, the movie would decent, but not great.
I have a lot of memories attached to that movie and while it's not perfect, it will always remind me of a time when I could sit down with my dad to watch something that scared me, but made me love spending time with him.
It's that time of year again. The time of year where people from around the world are brought together, families rejoice together, it will either get very cold or very hot. (For me its sadly the latter.) Those days that begins Jesus's birthday hav...
