If it's crap... We'll tell you

Personally I beleive that Judd Apatow is comic genius, providing some of the greatest comedies in the past decade.
Films such as, Knocked Up, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Mashall and many more.
People say that Apatow has dropped the ball on several evets.
Disagree, taking into account that I haven't seen Walk Hard or Step Brothers.
Oh and Drilbit Taylore wasn't great!
Seeing Pineapple Express On Saturday!
So, what do you think of him???

I love them for the most part. Step Brothers and Drillbit were awful.

well, i wouldn't put him in the category of ''one of the greatest comic geniuses of all-time'' he is a good comedy director but he does drop the ball occasionally.

Personaly, I think he's fantastic. Sure Drillbit kinda sucked, but noone can be gold all the time.

I like em all! Outrageous comedies with really likeable characters. Sure, Step Brothers & Walk Hard don't really have much heart or likeable characters, but I still got huge laughs out of those as well.

Hell, I even liked Drillbit Taylor. It was merely "Superbad Jr." though... nothing great.

Sorry gang, but he's always struck me as a mediocre comic writer. His 'popularity' might just be an example of how piss poor the whole comedy genre has become over the last decade or so. But at least I'll give him credit for coming out of the blue instead of copying the last guy.

Judd Apatow isn't all that good, unless his movies feature his rag-tag regulars like Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, and that James Franco guy

Step Brothers was alright, it was a goofy comedy that's perfect for a lazy morning with nothing to do, i went to see it ay 9am on Sunday.
Drillbit wasn't terrible either, but I think Owen Wilson really works best as a sidekick to Ben Stiller or Vince Vaughn.

I have up until now. I am pretty tired of Seth Rogen. He brings the same shit to every role. I can't fathom why he was cast as the Green Hornet.

The R rated ones are great but all of them could be trimmed by 20 minutes.

You are right about that.

I like them. Superbad was great. I didn't know he did Step Brothers, Drillbit Taylor, and Walk Hard. I haven't seen any of those so maybe thats why I still have such a good opinion of him.

So far, the ones I've seen ( SuperBad, Knocked Up & Pineapple Express), though not loved, I really liked. I loved 40 Yr. Old Virgin.
Comedies are a real hard sell for me, especially since many that actually contain a plot, seem to always slow down the comedy in order to allow for the story to take center stage. It's seems like a hard balance to keep a strong story going without compromising the momentum of the humor.
