Have you ever seen anime that got real popular but you just couldn't see the appeal. Some for me are:
Deathnote-To me it's just watching Light stroking he's ego telling himself how great he is and I can't see him as a hero or even an anti. I probably the only person to see the series and appluad when Light bites it.
Neon Genensis Evangelion-For not have having an ending. And I don't call that cluster of random image and phrases they showed as an ending. I heard there are movies that continue the story but no. I shouldn't have to go to another medium to see the ending of something from another medium..
Hentai:Some people try to defend things like bible black but it's PORN!!! Whether your into that or not all porn is identical and disposable. But hentai is some twisted stuff don't believe? Look up Princess 69 and prepare to lose your lunch!
I never got into Evangelion, and I stopped caring abouit Death Note a while back...most of the recent stuff, I RARELY watch. One anime I just got confused about was .hack//SIGN...I didn't know what was going on, haha.
I hate "stereotypical" anime/anime style! You know:
-Big eyes
-Guys that look like girls
-Emo's
-A guy that live's with 7 hot/sexy girls. And every girl wants to do him, but he's to shy....(HE IF I WERE THAT GUY.....I'LL BE HAPPY!!!! LET'S PARTY!!!)
-Same old plot.
-Girl's with "BIG" boobs!
- And this
Do I need to say more? -____-"
I'm more of the old school (90's/80's)/original/goofy anime's/manga's. Like (yes, I know) Dragonball (z), One Piece, Death Note, Lupin the 3rd, Pokemon (the frist 150 pokemon I mean), Big O, Kinnikuman 2, and many others!
And the only greatest manga I ever read is "MBQ"! READ IT!!!
lol, I thought I was the only one that read "MBQ". That manga does give the true meaning of the word "original" if you ask me! I will love if I see it become into an anime series! :D
10 'oldschool' to look into. Titles that have the different stories, the NORMAL body types, NOT written specifically for little girls. The characters aren't all Emo. The guys are guys, and the girls are girls. And if the guys with 6-7 hotties in a house, it's because he's trying to get his squadmates out of combat.

Ok, point by point.
- Big Eyes... is a style that's constantly throughout Anime. As well as Japanese art, Japanese advertisement, and Japanese television. "Big" or "Wide" eyes are culturally seen as a sign of 'goodness' or 'kind'. With narrow or small eyes seen as 'evil' or cruelty.
- Guys that look like girls... That's a point that I have an issue with as well.
- Emo's.... Damn, do you know how many Emo's are in Japan? TONS.... because the culture is so suppressive of youth, it's almost impossible to NOT have Emo's at one point or another.
- A guy that live's with 7 hot/sexy girls... It's suppose to show that the guy is "So noble", and such a true "Gentleman" that he can control those urges. It's true, I'd be having a party almost every hour myself, but it's a culture thing. I guess it would also shock you to know that they still have public bathhouses (Actually more like saunas) that are open to males and females.
- Same ol' plot.... You know? I'm sick of that too. Especially shit that's been scripted 20-30 fucking years ago.
- Big boobs... In Hentai? Yes, getting tired of it. In the typical anime that you see on TV, I'm not sure how or where that started. It's a recent (Meaning 10yrs or so) thing that's flooded the style, and I don't know why.
- The clip you showed. Wow, what can I say. Justifying a debate by showing a clip of a show that is suppose to be specifically targeted to 8-12yr old girls doesn't help you out. Sure, it's annoying as fucking hell. But then again, so are little girls between the ages of 8-12yrs old when you get them in a group.

The ones I'm burned out on are the following.
Mecha stories. After growing up with Voltron, Battleship Yamoto, Macross/Robotech etc,etc... I'm sick of the Mecha stories. I don't care about big giant robots doing damn shit anymore. Unless it's Macross or Voltron, I can do without it.
Horror/Magic. I've seen too many damn Vampires, Ghosts, 'Spirits', 'Angles/Devil' type stories. I'm so burned out on those that every time I see a single 'cast of a spell' in an Anime, I'm automatically turning it off.
Kids trying to be the best. Look, I'll admit that this one has more to do with my age than the stories. But I'm sick and tired of watching a bunch of kids that are going around trying to "Be the best" or "Defeat the big baddie". Come the hell on, there has to be a point when some adult comes walking up and just says "Kill that motherfucker, and you're done."
Kid targeted shows being the 'Only thing worth watching' mentality.
Ok, YES... this one is completely an age thing. Look, I don't give a fuck about Nurauto, Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon, Yihasha (However you spell it), or MOST of the ones that are out today. And I'm sick of little shits under 20yrs of age coming up to me talking about how "GREAT!!! XXXXX title is". I've been watching Anime and reading mangas since 1977. My cousin was mailing home stuff that he thought was "Kids stuff" without even looking at it. Just thought it was funny how different the Japanese 'comic books' were compared to American ones. (It's great to have family stationed overseas in the Military sometimes.)
For the most part, people have NO CLUE how BAD the editing is with stuff they see on TV today. I'm sure there are TONS of good Anime still around, but most of the true 'good' stuff is the OLD stuff that wasn't part of someone's marketing plan.
Give me something like Gunsmith Cats with Subtitles.... GOD I can't stand the dubbing.
For the listeners of the C&V podcast who want to give us feedback and ask us questions.
note: I didn't want to start this group, infact I hate the idea, but part of me wanted to know how many people listen to the show so i decided FINE
First off, I'd like to advise that those of you who have yet to see the movie The Princess and the Frog not read this article just yet, as it might contain some spoilers.I say "might" because I'm mostly writing this on the fly, with no previous scri…
