Movies You Enjoy But Others Don't (Or The Other Way Around)
Now, I've noticed something about movie-loving communities that is understandable, but somewhat annoying. In a movie community, everyone is harsher on a movie, and I understand why. They see more movies and gain a harsher view when they see newer movies. But they also watch some classics everyone is supposed to love and conclude that they're great despite their flaws.
I like the prequels. I don't love them, but I don't hate them either. It's not as good as they original series, but they're better than many other movies. Now, I can be called "retarded" or "insane" for liking those movies, but what people on this site(and other movie sites) seem to forget is that the majority of the general population has no problem with the films. Normal people like them, maybe even love them.
Now here's an example of a "classic" I hate; Rocky Horror Picture show. It's a fetish movie with Tim Curry in drag... not my idea of a good time.
Anyone else have feelings like this?

Any alien movie is a must see (especially with Weaver) Predator two now I'm a bit sketchy, but if it's the one with that guy from Leathal Weapon (not talking about Gibson) then I do not like it. Not at all!!!!

I hate Transformers, Iron Man, Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2 (couldn't be convinced to give 3 a chance), I hated Signs, audition, Dainipponjin(Big Man Japan), Sukiyaki Western Django, Wedding Crashers, Knocked Up...

ARE YOU INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's for the first four. How could you not like Iron Man????? The rest I agree with you on account that I did not see audition, big man, django and by there names someone will have to really convince me that they were not crap!!!! And I totally agree with you on the last two....TOTAL SH!T !!!!!!

tranformers - no plot, bad acting, bad ending, too cliche, too corny, and crappy fights, and they also managed to ruin the design of the transformers.
Iron man - see my blog.
Pirates - I just don't get what people see in these. They seemed like children's movies to me. I was bored, and massively disappointed. Pirate ghosts? who gives a rat's ass?
Signs - first 95% was excellent. last 5% was garbage. the alien was crappy as hell. and I hate when movies get preachy. If you end the movie by saying GOD IS THE ANSWER. HAVE FAITH. THERE IS A MEANING FOR EVERYTHING. that means to me that you... couldn't think of anything more creative and you copped out on a real ending. all that suspense and build up for nothing.

Guilty to the fact that I like kid's movies and the ghost pirates was why I watched it in the first place. Transformers was basically a CGI trip for me and I am not a big fan of Iron Man to begin with so I have no history to draw on for those two. I see your point with Signs. I usually stick to the first part of the movie... The alien was not a total let down for me. I always say the best alien could blend in with its surroundings and a guy in a cheap suit doesn't go a long way, but I could live with it.

Hold on I still have not read your blog about why you hate Iron Man and I never said that your views were not grounded. You do not like kiddie movies that's fine and if you think that the ending of Signs was crappy then you missed the whole point of the show, because as far as I could tell that was the whole reason for the show. It started out with him no longer being a pastor and questioning his faith DUH!!!! And Pirates was just plain fun for me. It was a bit of every thing not too serious or too preachy or too slapstick. Just enjoyable. But if you want I'll read your blog and see you further spew your point (sigh)

I got the point of signs but I was disappointed that that's what the point was. Being a former Christian, turned Pastafarian, I was glad to see that even a priest could lose irrational faith and see the world for what it is. Then they introduced great suspense, and when i saw that clip of the alien i got goosebumps... it was so creepy. and then when that ending came and this just turned out to be another crappy m. night shyamalan movie about nothing.
I really thought maybe they'd do something new with this one. God seems like...the easy way out, which is why I called the ending a cop out. Before man could study stars, we just defaulted that they were gods. since then we have scientifically proven what they actually are. Everytime science hits a bump man defaults again and just assumes it's God. To me that's backtracking, for something which will inevidably be explained some other way eventually. To end your movie with that seems to take away from any creative potential it once had.
