Hello everyone! I am a huge fan of your website guys and love watching the reviews, but I am really glad to see that people are really getting into dicussing and talking about movies, anyway.... I would like to discuss the return of music and dancing to cinema. I mean, for the longest of time the musical threate was I guess in exile, I think the last musical on screen I saw was 'Singing In the Rain' and that was a specail screening, of which the house was empty.
So why the return? I mean look at High School Musical *shudder*, Hair Spray *awesome*, Across the Universe *better then sex*? How does one explain this? I was watching so you can think you can Dance the other week and I think one of the hosts got the nail on the head when he said "Dancing has been in the darkness for so long, people have forgotten what it feels like to what people dance, like really dance, not rubbing up and down against each other, but dancing in a way that tells a story." I must agree and the same applies for singing as well, one singing there heart out in moments of heart break, love, sadness, lust, greed, evil all that jazz. With fanastic music and lyrics supporting them as they prance around the screen. I mean, my heart was racing as I was watching Hair Spray, and I honestly couldnt stop smiling. I watched in wonder at Across the Universe, and well as for High Musical, I may not like it, but it is showing the kids what they have been missing out on.
Agree? Disagree? What do you reckon guys?
