Worst Book You have ever had the displeasure of reading

For me it would have to be any of the books in the "Flowers in The Attic" series by V.C. Andrews

The first book was pretty meh but each book that followed got worse and worse, and my sick need for closer made me power through them.
The woman can't seem to make her characters evolve at all. The way they are written when they are 11 are the same way they are written when they are 36.

She loves ending ever sentence in exclamation points! To the point were they lose all effect.

She also writes every character as a complete whore or a sick stalker who can't move on with their lives.

She also falls into the trap of making characters impossibly beautiful, every single character needs a 9 sentence paragraph describing how wonderful they look. This would not be that big of a deal but they do it 15 times for every character. If you took out character descriptions all her 200 page books would be 5 page pamphlets about being overly dramatic.

Never disliked any enough to declare "Worst Book Ever." Candide was pretty disappointing.

Oh! I really disliked Hannibal before I stopped reading it.

God I had to read A Tale Of Two Cities For School and it was God Awful!

One of the best books I've ever read. Bar none the most impacting.

The Tommyknockers.

I got about half way through before I realized that I would rather beat myself to death with the cover than continue.

I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them right this moment . . .

Oh dear god I agree with that one. I did finish the book only to find myself wondering why I even bothered.

It's an oral tradition put down on paper. It's a perfect example of the style. To dislike it is to simply dislike pre-mass media culture.

Nothing to Lose by Lee Child (Author of the other five Jack Reacher novels.) I don't have a clue what happened to this once beloved, brick-jawwed tough guy of one of the best novel series' since the Easy Rawlins saga by Walter Mosley. He appearantly must've taken some stupid pills during the down-time between the last installment & the current. Overall, the book just feels rushed & like it doesn't even know exactly where it's going, and the characters all seem to be written as if they're always in one helluva hurry, and are being inconvenienced by having to participate in this narrative.
It's definitely not worth the time or the vision damage. However, if you're interested in a good book from this series of novels I can undoubtedly suggest either The Hard Way or The Killing Floor as great earlier entries in the life of the formerly great private dick, Jack Reacher.

"Brida" by Paulo Coelho, this book is one the most superfluos, badly written things I've read.
