i agree, i didnt think it was great. good yes, but not as great as everyone says it is. I have to se the IMAX version to completely say that, but I cant see some scenes looking "better" changing my mind. I actually hated the bike
a lot of indie films are overrated to me, not because there indie films but just because there indie films and there acting like "were to smart for a major audience" then they get picked up by a major studio and act like they were robbed when they lose an award
I'm not a Kubrick hater, in fact, I think some of his stuff is absolutely FUCKING genius (Clockwork Orange and Full Metal Jacket are two of my favorite films ever), and I actually rented this movie expecting to just be blown away. But even when I took into account that, yes, it's build-up is quite slow, I just found it boring, pretentious, and just downright damn annoying. There are, of course, some iconic scenes in it (and I still love HAL), and I can appreciate that it was a milestone for it's time, but I honestly could not stand it.
