Seven Samurai is in a class by itself. There are few films that could be in that class.

However, Godfather is one of them.

I weep with frustration that I can't think of how to explain that to you, an obviously intelligent person who does appreciate Kurosawa.

Ditto, this has been said a thousand times but FUCK the ending. They do not deserve the Oscar for what they pulled to the audience in the last 20 mins.

Also the first Alien movie, okay maybe I was spoiled because I saw the sequel first but I was really bored with the first movie.

Ah, so everything has to be spoon-fed to you, and no one can try anything new. You have to see and understand everything, and can't think for yourself and try to find a meaning without someone straight out telling you.

what did you expect from the coens though? they have brains, unlike CERTAIN OTHER producers...when me and a mate watched NCFOM for 1st time..he shot out of his seat at end...if it hadnt been for TEETH or (REC)..film of the year...ALIEN boring? GET A GRIP...ok cat amongst pigeons time..ALL star wars movies are overrated...ok when you were a child but hey GET A LIFE

from a fantastic cinema fan's point of view CLOVERFIELD is the motherlode ie decent budget, great fx, reasonably few plotholes (there is of course the whole thing about suspension of disbelief...this goes for ALL films though..even propaganda like black hawk down etc...)
but if monster movies arent your thing..regardless of hype DONT SEE IT..ahem..anyway THE HOST was better but that was KOREAN so the chance of that being a hit was nil...i did hear a remake was on cards with Clooney (hahahahahahahahahahahaha o ive just wet myself ETC). IRON MAN is a kids film compared to TDK...REAGAN was a butcher diguised as grandpa walton, regardless what "history" will say...

Although acclaim for movies like Dark Knight and Cloverfield puzzle me, there's nothing that puzzles me more than the stupidity of the movie-going masses. This leads me to a tie between these two:

Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest

and Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End

the fact that these movies made so much money is disgusting. most of the critics were negative but that still didn't stop the world from loving this bloated, convoluted garbage! They cast Johnny Depp as a flamboyant buccaneer and people treat this series like Lord of the fucking Rings!

The original Star Wars. The Empire Strikes Back is still one of my favorite of the series but damn the first ones mostly chatter. But I was after after 1980 so I probably wasn't there for the magic

hah Jumper was totally panned! It's funny... I remember seeing that thinking "that was a pretty decent movie," but like 20 minutes later I turn to my friend and saying, "wait... what the fuck happened to his dad?"
