Cloverfield, Iron Man (Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike this movie, I just didn't like it as much as most people seemed to), and the Spider-Man movies.

Yeah... The Dark Knight is definitely over-rated.
In my opinion, it had very few if any of what I call movie elements.
One element being that you feel what the character feels... i.e., happiness (e.g., no comedy), sadness (you don't feel sorry for anyone, even the people that the Joker was killing off), angry (those moments where one hit broke a few bones... those yeah! moments), etc. None of that in this movie.
It was almost as if I was watching a documentary on Batman... I don't like documentaries... I don't want to analyze the character and characters in the movie... as if we are all psychology experts that are looking into someone's odd behavior (what the fuck... I want to be enveloped into the fantasy... now thats a movie)
Don't get me started on the Titanic... so many illogical moments... thats what makes it a chic flick.

First, I agree that Titanic is overrated.
I disagree with your formula that illogical moments = chick flick. (You do mean "chick", not "chic", right? Otherwise, this is a slightly different discussion).
Chick flicks tend to focus on emotional relationships. Illogical crap, on the other hand, is universal. Gunfights with hundreds of rounds fired, and only the bad guys die? Now THAT'S illogical.
I just saw Tropic Thunder yesterday and I have to say that is kind of sucked in my book. All of my friends, the Spill Crew and anyone who mentions the movie say that it is funnier than they though, everyone thought it was going to be mediocre and then they come out out of the movie praising it. I just thought that some parts of the movie drag on too long including the Tom Cruise cameos and the part with Ben Stiller being a slave actor was pretty lame to me. Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr along with the younger guy from Superbad pretty much made the film enjoyable for the first 3/4's of the movie and then the rest can be flushed down the toilet in my mind.
