To answer my own question I'd have to say no, I love good comic book movies and so far this year we've had great ones.
The Dark Knight
Hellboy 2
Wanted (haven't seen it)
Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Hancock
Punisher: War Zone (later this year)
Did I miss any?
The reason why I'm raising this question is at my workplace many of us love discussing movies. But the majority of my co-workers don't care for the influx of comic book movies. Also they are afraid that there will be nothing but these types of movies next year and the year after that. Personally I think it's just a growing trend since typically comic films make money. What do you think? Should Hollywood try to escape from the superhero genre?
It's a fad. And like all fads, hollywood will get tired of it and it will pass. Look, think about how bad all the new Marvel movies are likely going to be. I WANT them to be good, but it's likely not going to happen, as it is, people didn't like Hulk, and I thought it was worth seeing. Imagine a hulk that's kinda eh? it will lose HUGE money and that will be that, then figure that times 10. :P
