For me,

Big Fish (the end always gets me... so sad)
WALL-E (cried TWICE, IN THE THEATER)
Up (see WALL-E)
Forrest Gump ( "Jenn-ay! Momma! Bubba!")
The final episode of "Boy Meets World" (Mr. Feeny =[ )

Ones that ALMOST got me to cry:
Toy Story 2
Finding Nemo
Monsters, Inc. (wow, a lot of Pixar films ont his list)
Rocky (though they were happy tears)
Shakespeare In Love ( it was more out of the sheer beauty of the film, though)
Schindler's List (sure, most of the film IS brutal, but the last scene and the "I could have done more!" scenes are so beautiful)
Sweeney Todd ( it was more of a "man, thats deep" feeling at the end actually)
Shawshank Redemption (out of happiness)
Beauty and the Beast
The Little Mermaid

Ones that everyone else cries at, that don't phase me:

Titanic ( I mean, I get WHY people cry, but, it just doesn't phase me)
Benjamin Button (You KNOW he's going to die from the first scene...)
E.T. (granted, I haven't seen this since I was a wee tyke. I might tear up upon another viewing)
Braveheart ( maybe its only because I REALLY don't like this movie)
Slumdog Millionaire (see Braveheart)

I get that reaction from everyone. Haha.

I give the movie its props. It has great cinematography, cool editing, and I love a couple of the songs in the soundtrack.

But, in all honesty, I find the film kind of boring after the first 20 minutes (which I love) and I feel like it just kind of drags it feet through most of it. I wish it was cut down to maybe an hour and 45 minutes, but every time I watch it (and believe me, although I do not like the film, I have seen it several times) I fail to see anything that could be cut out, or cut down much. Some of the past scenes have too much extraneous detail. I think the scene with Latika and Jamal meeting in the kitchen could have been cut down much shorter, but that is really the only scene I can find.

The main problems I have with Slumdog are as follows,

1. Too long and drawn out.
2. I've found plot-holes that really bug me. One being "Where did Jamal's brother get that gun?" Now, I understand that there was a gap of at least 5 years where he could have gotten that gun, but that just doesn't buy it for me.
3. More present, less past please. They go for too long in some points describing HOW Jamal discovered Benjamin Franklin was on the bill. There is too much extraneous information in the past scenes.

All that said, I do own this film on DVD, and I have watched it several times. It was in my top 10 favorite films of 2008 as well, but only for the technical aspect of the film (editing) and its cinematography. Overall, I thought that there were better films last year deserving of praise. Mainly Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon.

So, perhaps it's a little much for me to say I REALLY don't like the film, like I said about Braveheart (which, I really REALLY don't like...) but that I more have some extreme problems with it.

But, I don't want this to turn into a Slumdog Millionaire war, because thats not the topic of this thread. I just wanted to answer your question about how i could not like Slumdog.

That's kinda funny because I like Slumdog much better than Benjamin Button.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie but it was so drawn out and there were times where it just got rather uncomfortable.

When i was younger i cried at almost every disney movie i saw. Í also cried in Mystic River.
There's also a movie I can't even watch and that's I am Sam, for personal reasons i just cry in the first few minutes of the movie and I have to turn the movie of.

I can remember Turner and Hooch and Old Yeller, but I know any movie where the faithful animal dies or gets hurt or is left behind really gets me. Damn animals. And of course the movie all dorks get misty eyed in, the ending of Start Trek the Wrath of Khan.

i'd have to say at the end of "are we there yet?" when the mother almost tells nick (or whoever ice cube plays) to leave becuase she feels she can't trust him enough; then she feels he has a connection with the kids and let's him stay

i was at the point where tears were coming out but stifled it
