Because it would have been fantastic to see her get blown to bits. Come on now, I know I was not the only one to think, "I wish that had been Katie Holmes getting offed
I really hated the Rachel character, it didn't matter who played the role.
Come to think of it, most of the female love interests in these superhero movies have been pretty annoying. Mary Jane is a snotty bitch who dates anybody who can pay her bills or further her career. Rachel claims to wait forever for Bruce but in a matter of months begins a serious relationship with Dent. In Superman Returns, when the Man of Steel leaves suddenly Lois Lane becomes so enraged that she writes an article insulting her former love. I'm not going to even mention that she tells her finance that he is the father of her son. Pepper Pots covers up all of Tony Stark's chauvinistic actions in hopes of winning the playboy's heart.
