I really love The Watchmen graphic novel and I'm looking forward to the movie out of sheer curiosity. I want to know how they plan to fit this huge story into a single movie. A story thats defies pretty much all Hollywood conventions. I think I'm looking forward to peoples' reactions to the ending especially in this "post 9-11 world" almost as much as the film itself.
The thing about this teaser/trailer is the fact, it doesn't tell you a damn thing about what it's about. So for fanboys (like myself) who read Watchmen, you understand the reverence and reasons why this graphic novel is so popular. For a non-comic book movie goer, this is going to be hard for them to appreciate or even understand. While Batman has themes, it still has that whole climatic good guy saves the day. Watchmen is not like that. It's more contemplative.
It also worries me about Synder's tweaking. 300 captured the look of the graphic novel but the whole political background crap was stuuuuupid especially the rape scene. Talk about trying to oversell the film for drama. Synder says there's tweaking in Watchmen as well...so, I am a little concerned.
If this adaptation is as good as the hopelessly watered down V for Vendetta, I will be content. Not happy. But content.
The trailer looks great, with little to no alteration of the source material! But why the Hell did they go with the stupid, cliche, look, the title is a bunch of gears idea? Yeah, yeah, it's a watch, but come on, the graphic novel itself had a doomsday clock, not a clicking title.
I got mixed feelings about cutting out the comic within the comic, I forgot the name. One the one hand, I remember reading thsoe parts, and it just slowed the pace down a lot for me, on the other, it's a really big part of the story, I dont know if it should be on the big screen but at least on DVD
I have been waiting this movie a long, long time, and is finally here! I have read the comic book, like about 3 times and i never get tired of it! This will be the best comic book movie, since Dark Knight!

I'm kind of worried about the ending. I heard they changed it. I don't think it required changing. It's kind of cool to set up a surprise for people who already read the book, I just hope they don't FUCK IT UP >:O
Other than that, I just thought the way they're handling the Black Freighter is a little strange. I know they need to keep the movie length relatively short, but I thought I heard that it was being released 4 months apart from the movie, and I have to wonder how it will resonate with people who haven't already read the comics.
And I can't wait 1) to see Dr. Manhattan on Mars. That scene has lots of potential for artistic genius. If the guy who did 300 is behind it, I don't know, could be something special. And 2) to hear Rorschash's voice.
Even though everyone are hyped up for this film, I really do see why? I'm not going to say it's bad or anything, but I see this as a good flick. But I'm not going to see this film. I'm not saying it's bad but to me...It look....“Ehhh” or “So-So”.
everyone is making a big fuss because of how truely great the novel was. For me its Snyder though, Zack Snyder is really great with producing a film that is close and faithful to the source material but is still a good film. Thats really hard to do, so many film makers can't handle that balance, and its going to be interesting to see if it can be done with the Watchmen.
