Wow you List JT as one of your top 5 greatest? I think he is a great song writer and has a pretty good voice, but his guitar skills are pretty basic....What Song should i listen to, to change my mind?
I knew someone would ask me about that haha. Ever since I started playing I always prefered fingerstyle/fingerpicking and an acoustic over using a pick and an electric, even on songs like Couldn't Stand The Weather. So when I found a CD of his in a box in my garage and listened to Fire and Rain and Mexico I was hooked. I hadn't been playing very long and was thinking of quitting but my determination to play Fire and Rain kept me going. Now I can just about every song he has written, if only I could sing haha.
Thats Cool Im a big fan of all the 70's balladeers, and when I started playing guitar the first finger picking song that motivated me was Dust in the Wind by Kansas once I got that I felt like an actual guitar player.....I prefer playing Electric just because i like to mess around with peddles and effects, but i still play my Acoustic all the time, I would suggest learning Furlese and Call of Ktulu by Metallica once I got those under my belt my guitar playing really took off....how long have you been playing?
