Dragonball: A trilogy
I have read quite some forums and blogs about the upcoming Dragonball movie. Most of them are about people being afraid that the movie is going to be a piece of shit. I have to confess that I am thinking that too, but I wish that it's a decent movie, especially now that it is anounced that there will be a trilogy.
The first and upcoming DB movie is about Goku being on search for the Dragonballs and Piccolo as the villain. That explains why Goku isn't being portrayed as very pumped up yet. I am not really worried about the cast, more about the plot and execution.

Now I want to know what your answers are on these questions:
Do you think there should be a Dragonball movie at all? What are your complains and worries about this movie? Do you think the cast is ok, if no, who would you reccomend? Are you in for a trilogy?
My answers:
Why, not If the movie is made well than it's fine. My complain is that the posters that are brought out look quite crappy and this affects my view for the movie. My worry is that it will not be executed well. Because the plot of the movie is about the what earlier years in Dragonball I can live with Justin Chatwin being Goku. If the first movie is good, I wouldn't mind a trilogy.

Crapfest. Nothing more need be said we all know this is going to be a POS.
EDIT: Never mind there does. What the fuck is that costume supposed to be? Does Piccolo ever wear that in the show/manga/anything!? I'll answer for you. NO! god damn it.
And yeah Goku isn't as muscular in that part of the saga but this Chatwin son of a bitch still looks like a flippin twig in comparison. Many flips of the bird to this movie and any sequels that may come out of it, which I doubt since I fully expect this movie to BOMB.

i don't think there should be a trilogy, simply for the fact that they would miss out so much, for example, if they did a z movie, it would hav 2 b vegeta and frieza crammed into 1 movie, then wot would they do for a gt movie? maybe shenron or baby, then they would hav to skip super saiyan stages 2 and 3 just to get to that point in the story. i'm hoping the movie will be good and that i'll be proven wrong, but to be honest, i just see this being xmen all over again, fingers crossed that it won't be:) it would hav 2 b more than 3 but only if they do them well, 1 awful dragonball movie is quite enough.

True..they can never put the whole story in only three movies. But If this movie works, the second movie should be about Vegeta and end with a note about Frieza. (Just like Batman Begins ends with the clue about The Joker). The third movie should then be about Frieza.

I think the best anyone can hope for is a fun little action/fantasy movie, a la the first Mortal Kombat film. If they stay true to the source material, and the fight scenes look cool, Dragonball could work on that level. Hoping for anything more then that is probably wishful thinking.
