Actually, you know nothing as the Spirit isn't even a graphic novel let alone one of best and most famous.

I mean Will Eisners original run vs. The Watchmen.

And it is one of the best and most famous graphic novel.

Apparently thats correct.... but I don't like it. I usually don't refer to a collected run as a graphic novel especially not when its not structured for that format. The worlds gone mad I say!

I'm just not comfortable with the term graphic novel I guess. I only use it to refer to something that wasn't released in single issues. There ain't many of those, especially these days as its less profitable.

If you look at it like that The Watchmen can't be be called a graphic novel either.

I give grace to Watchmen because it was planned as a limited series to be collected and told one large story. Like a novel. Stuff like that and DKR and Kingdom Come.
