If it's crap... We'll tell you

Does anyone like these damn things? Seriously, if there is a gamer out there who can honestly tell me they like escort missions, come forward. I'd like to know why.

Why does everyone hate these things anyway? For me, it's just that I'm selfish. I don't want to look out for some stupid A.I. that runs into walls when I have to worry about not getting my own ass shot/chopped to pieces/etc.

Why do you hate escort missions? Or don't hate, if there is even such a person.

Well that's because the developers are not really doing anything, except well the greatness (in my opinion) that was Shadow of the Colossus. That game was good, I think ICO was probably the only time I ever liked escort missions (since the game was one big one and it was good). I think the company is coming out with another game soon which in turn will be awesome and since its produced by Sony Entertainment will be PS3 exclusive :(

I loved SotC!

Unfortunatly, I could only go so far as the blockbuster by my place had only one copy, and it was glitched. The map dissapeared in the Minotaur fight the only time I managed to get down there so I had no idea where walls and objects were. The rest of the time, my dude simply froze while everything else worked. could zoom the camera around him and everything.

The escort mission that sticks out in my mind most is in The Bouncer where you had to escort Dominique, complete with her tiny health bar through the Mikado building making sure she didn't get hit by giant robots.
