I know I already have a thread for this but I think that this deserves its own thread on its own. This is something... Wow.

John Cafferty of CNN comments on Hillary Clintons Speech last night.

Anyone who thought Hillary Clinton would admit defeat and graciously make her exit to begin healing the party wasn’t paying attention last night.

Barack Obama won the Democratic nomination, not by a delegate or two. The superdelegates poured into his camp all day and all night and made a bold statement. “He’s our guy.” But when the sun came up this morning, she is still there.

If Obama wants a hint what it will be like if she is the vice president, last night should give him a pretty good idea. Refusing to concede, she chose instead to try to steal the spotlight from him on one of the most historic nights in our history. Barely acknowledging his accomplishment, she went on in her speech at Baruch College like nothing had changed. It was pathetic.

Earlier in the day, she let it be known she is interested in the Vice Presidential nomination. Like it’s her option. This puts enormous pressure on him to agree or risk further angering her dwindling supporters. Not that some of them could get any angrier.

Barack Obama at this moment has a much bigger problem with Hillary Clinton than he does with John McCain. You would think her advisers and supporters would start to be embarrassed by her behavior at some point.

At a time when our country should be celebrating a quantum leap forward in healing our racial divisions, Hillary Clinton is ruining the party – a spoiled child who refuses to go when told, “It’s bedtime.”

I'm an Obama supporter but my biggest fear is that the fallowing is true:

I know it's a joke but Wilmore makes a valid point.

I'm sorry but Obama wont and can't win.

He stands for nothing, all he does is talk about MLK and JFK and how great thay are.

John Mccain is the safe choice. He gave up more for America then Obama can ever give. He is a true Conservative even though the Oil Men (aka the brain washed Republicans) can't see it.

If Obama stayed in the senate (which he could still very well end up doing) for the next eight years, I doubt we'd be having this discussion. When I heard his '04 DNC speech, I knew instantly that I was listening to a man who might someday be president. But when I heard he was running for the top spot last year, I was sorely disappointed.

Sadly, I don't think he has the content to back up his rhetoric, and he will be hard pressed to prove otherwise to a man like McCain who has more experience in his pinky than Obama and Clinton combined. When it comes to the leader of the free world, you don't turn to the most popular kid on the block (as so many Dems have), you turn to the one who can kick ass and take names. Those candidates, unfortunately, are long gone (I continue to mourn Richardson's drop out of the race).

By no stretch of the imagination do I want to see another Republican in office, but it is a very real possibility. I shudder to think of McCain as the 'safe' choice.

Too bad for you my friend

A real conservative or a real democrat would be a welcome choice, but they're all gone. Our best bet would be to eliminate 2nd terms alltogether so that a sitting president ONLY had to worry about today. Obama will do fine, JFK was about the same age as he was with about the same amount of experience when he became president and he did alright.

Obama, all his career, has stood tall for the people; especially when he was in Chicago, I know because thats my hometown. Things like tax breaks for low income workers, worked as a lawyer handling discrimination, voting rights, and some union cases. He did a lot for people that had no one else speaking for them which is more than I can say for many of the politicians in Illinois. He's highly educated, well read, and can bring reverance back over the USA where Bush has all but lost it. And if you don't think that it matters how the world views us, then you're sadly mistaken. We need to be respected and liked much more than we need to be feared.

When you put a new frontman in the white house then our reputation begins to be repaired. We're already in danger of losing our spot as world leader what with the growing economies and industries of China, India, and even Russia with its oil exportation. The dollar is falling against currencies that were considered chump change a decade ago. Hell, look at the conversion rate of CAD 1, to USD 0.9810. I never thought I'd see a day when Canada dollars were worth more that the USD. Perhaps the billions wasted in Iraq could've been put to better use here. Conservatives are supposed to conserve and they've spent money like we actually have money to burn.

So what is McCain going to do with years of economic experience that Obama CAN'T do? He's ready to stay in Iraq "til we win" but anyone with half a brain knows we really CANT win. Any exit is not going to be the prettiest publicly, but there's no use wasting even more lives. Let the Iraqis gover and protect themselves.

Yeah, I never thought the CAN $ would be worth that much either. I remember when it was 0.60 USD for every CAN $1.
