If it's crap... We'll tell you

So, I just had to post a forum about this after listening Korey's opinion of Sydney White. I went to see it and, DAMN, Amanda must owe Korey money (maybe its the money he needs to pay off to buzkill). I'm gonna make an assumption that romantic comedies are something Korey hates. I'm not just gonna pick on Korey this entire post but when a person says The Holiday and Because I Said So are just as bad as each other they obviously don't know what they're saying (Holiday was good, Because I Said So was awful). We all hate and love different genres. I hate musicals and history. Rent is the only musical I wasn't bored through, but stuff like Phantom of Opera is pain. And historical films, well I only dislike them because of their slow pace. Cyrus hates stressful films. Leon hates tedious films. How 'bout you?

Well, I wouldn't say I hate them, but I'm usually disinterested in war movies and "gangsta" movies. Gangster is a different matter -- those I dig, but flicks about life in the 'hood hold little fascination for me. Maybe because I'm so white.

I'm also generally baffled by drug movies. "Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas" was either too bizarre or too frustrating, as I felt like Hunter S. should really get his shit together and meet his deadlines on time. Stoner movies, on the other hand, can be pretty funny. I guess it's all context. I have no experience with hardcore drugs or life on the streets or prowling through Vietnamese jungles, so it's hard to relate to movies about 'em.

On the other hand, I have no experience with the Mafia, or shoot-'em-ups at high noon, or alien critters from outer space, or cute-but-neurotic and slightly-stalkerish Ben Stiller-like characters trying to woo me with their charming banter, so maybe my theory's wrong after all.

I don't like horror that much, it's just not scary anymore.

Um, I don't hate stressful films. What were you thinking of as an example?

I'm trying to think of what the Hell that even means. Stressful films? Like, films about stress? Or where people are under stress??

Any movie that say it will touch your heart, pure chick flicks, and chick flicks disguised as guy movies Braveheart is the perfect example of this. Curse you mel gibson!!!!

"Chick flicks" I guess.

If the demographic is the average teenage girl or it's a feel-good romantic comedy about love or something, then count me out.

I'm more of an anime nerd than movie buff, anyway, and apart from a select few I can't stand shoujo stuff.

The Break-Up, I'd assume Assination of JJ would be (correct me if I'm wrong), maybe stressful would was the wrong word. Sorry, I wrote this at 11:30 pm so I was off focus.

Hmm, still not sure what you're after. If there's a genre I have traditionally had a problem with, it's probably the fast-buck romantic comedy, but there are tons of rom-coms that I absolutely adore as well. I hated The Break-Up because it was not funny and I didn't like or sympathize with either one of the main characters and I disliked Assassination because I thought the story and characters meandered around aimlessly throughout most of the film, had hardly any suspense (you already know how it ends), and generally was boring.

I honestly don't think there's a genre that I feel shut out from liking completely although I definitely prefer some to others.

Mostly I don't like to watch war movies or sometimes action movies. It still depends on the plot of the movies if it gets my attention.

You didn't like "The Ref"? Come on, that's classic. "Scrooged" wasn't too bad either. But wow, other than that....
I admittedly still have never seen "A Christmas Story".

No joy for Brinstar.

Being a big Bill Hicks fan, I'm naturally leery of anything with Leary (chuckle) but :"The Ref" really is funny as hell.

I HATE musicals. Idle wild, Dreamgirls, Tyler Perry plays (not the movies, but I equally hate those too except for one) Hate, HATE musicals!! There have been less than maybe 3 exceptions....

The only one I can say is way above average and that I love is Little shop of horrors. That is a classic. My bias is open and I am damn proud of it!

P.S. Although not a full movie I enjoyed mother goose rockin' and Rhyming? On the disney channel. That was an oldie but fantastic
