What do you think about The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor ?
What do you guys think about the upcoming Mummy movie. This one has Jet Li playing the mummy. I personally can't wait to see it. I liked the previous two mummy movies too and I even liken the spin-off ''Scorpion King'' (only because I like The Rock).
Anyhoo, here is a kind of plot description and pic found on Wiki:
The Mummy franchise shifts from Egypt to China for the next chapter in the adventure series, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O'Connell to combat the resurrected Qin Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined by son Alex (Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello, replacing Rachel Weisz) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O'Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.
Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have laid forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O'Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents. As the monarch roars back to life, the heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia.
I think it will be a really entertaining movie, what do you folks think????

I think he ain't gonna be your Conventional Egyptian mummy. But reading from the plot, I think Jet Li is cursed to be a statue, like from the terracotta army.
I just hope the action and visualation will be awesome and the plot too of course. :P

They some serious 'splaining to do after The Scorpion King. I still wake up in the middle of the night shrieking in abject horror from the awfulness of that film.
But I'm not going to hold my breath. The whole fact that they replaced Rachel Weisz doesn't bode well. I am looking forward to seeing Brendan Fraser's hair job, however. :)

True..they have to come with a much better movie now. I only liked the Scorpion King, cause it was the Rock's first movie.
Now Southland Tales is just a f*cked up movie, not even the Rock could save it for me.

I for one have had enough of Brendan Fraser. Airheads was good. George of the Jungle was good. (In an idiotic kind of way) The Mummy was good. But Mummy Returns was painfully mediocre. Looney Toons: Back in action was a horrible horrible movie. And I don't think I can forgive him that horrorfest.

Yeah..but I am more in for this movie, cause of Jet Li. I wanna know how his character is going to be.
Brendan Fraser is in this other upcoming movie too : Journey to the Center of Earth.

I was a big fan of the first Mummy movie. It reminded me of Indiana Jones, not as good, but still entertaining. But The Mummy had something Indy never had...Rachel Weisz.
I hated the second movie (kids aren't cute, they're annoying) and never watched the Scorpion King. I'll pass on this as well.

I like the first too. I don't think the kid was annoying at all in the second film. I glad they're moving away from the Egyptian mummy though.

Could stink. They couldn't get Rachel Weisz back, and she was very important to the chemistry of the cast, I think. Plus, it won't have the whole appeal Egypt brings.

I tend to hope so hard that a movie does good, that I start believing that it is awesome, regardless of what I read about it. I'm going to try and not do that with this one. I really liked the Mummy Returns, so I hope this one's good. They'll have to let Jet Li do his kung fu as a mummy, though. The slow-moving juggernaut style of Arnold Vosloo won't work for him.
