I know that there's a health issue concerning this subject,
but I once read an article that said that pulling your own pork can be much more sanitory ( & economical) than having a professional pull it for you, if you just make sure to properly clean your pork before"hand" ( especially since you'll never have a clear idea of where that professional's hands have been).
It then stated that, even though the best part about pulling your own pork is that you never have to worry about looking your best, one should still reward oneself by sending one's self of a box of romantic chocolates or a boquet of flowers afterwards, as a form of self-empowerment (however, if you ask me, I think that the author might've stolen that part from Oprah).

For some reason, I've always thought that ham/pork chops/bacon always tasted weird/disgusting.

Or maybe I subconsciously want to be Jewish/Muslim...
