If it's crap... We'll tell you

When I was about six years old me and my family went to the movie theaters. My older brother and my mom saw The Mummy. So I went and saw Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace with my dad. I had never heard of Star Wars before this so I didnt know what to expect. Everything went quiet as the the movie is about to begin and then the opening began and I loved it, So after that I became a fan and before episode 3 came out I saw the originals and loved them as well.

I think I found out about Starwars from the video games back in the Snes days. I had fun with most of them, but then I watched the movies and was bored to tears. I guess it just wasn't a movie meant for me. Videogames made the series fun for me though.

1995: Rented VHS of Episodes IV-VI

1997: Bought VHS of Episodes IV-VI

2004: Bought DVD of Episodes IV-VI

that pretty much sums it up.

That's a question I've always asked myself. Star Wars has always just been something I knew about. I don't remember not knowing what Star Wars is. I'm not a big fan boy for it or anything, I personally think the movies are good but not great, but it's just something I always remember being familiar with.

Blockbuster 1993, I thought it was a porn because I say a Bigfoot on the cover.

My mom bought all of them when they came out on VHS, when I was like 8 or 9. I'm an only child and it was summer so I had nothing to do. I watched the first to in one evening and Retun of the Jedi the next morning. I was officially a fan for life from that moment on.

Kids these days... *shakes head*

I saw the original in my hometown theatre, which was an old-fashioned movie theatre, not a mall cineplex. The line went around the block. My friends and I got in line 90 minutes ahead of time and had about 100 people in front of us. Still managed to get some decent seats, just under the lip of the balcony (which wasn't being used - so no popcorn and soda showers).

A couple of trailers. A cartoon or two.

20th Century Fox logo and the fanfare.

Theatre goes dark... "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."

Huge orchestral splash and the main titles - big gasp from the audience. Read the little scrolling story.

Little starship goes by - everybody buzzes about how cool that is.

Then that big, big, big frakking star destroyer just keeps going and going overhead. Felt like it was coming right over the balcony.

...and movie watching changed. Just. Like. That.

I wish I could have seen the original Star Wars in a movie theater.

It was incredible. Went back 5 or 6 more times.

In the summer of 1977, my parents took us to the drive-in to see a little movie called Star Wars.

I still remember the experience off seeing those tie fighters running right towards our car. The drive-in was the best!

Talked my mother into taking me to see it at the drive-in (double feature with Close Encounters). Needless to say, she didn't get either one and I was glued to the screen. Drive-in was seriously cool for Star Wars.

I had a small attention span at the age of 7 or 8, I saw the First Star Wars on Tv in a relative house, and Episode 6 at the age of 5 or 6, Now I have the whole set and appreciated ever day, but I consider 6 to be kinda of weak, I like 3 better
