I know everyone likes different things, but we should be able to agree universally on what's important in a movie. To narrow this down, tell me the top 10 factors that make a good movie.
A good movie should polarise opinion on itself, thats not to excuse some of the box office drivel thats been touted as films.
I think a good example of this was vanilla sky, half the people i talked to hated it and the other half loved it but that didn't mean it was a bad film because 51% didn't like it. At the end of the day i guess its all subjective, the first hurdle you have to cross is making sure your idea is original, if its not then make sure you steer clear of any stereotypes
Do you think wardrobe and sets are all that important? Absurdism has been used in movies before; a lot of German Expressionistic movies used unrealistic sets, costume, and make-up. By the way, is make-up important?
Just curious, did you ever see Citizen Kane? "Greatest Movie Ever", and yet it has serious make-up issues. (AFI ranked it Number 1, as well as many other lists)

Congrats Tyler, your post was more successful than mine on the same topic. I have to say that after reading the argument on Cyrus's blog about the Dragonball movie, there is no such thing as a good movie, just a successful one. Godzilla is by far and away a piece of junk movie (yes I said it) and yet the cult following it has is astounding, When Holly wood remade the film, people were upset that the new one didn't follow the cheesiness of the originals and said the the film was ruined. Goes to show that anything can and will be a good movie.
Since we can no longer find people's videos they posted by going to their page anymore. I found it hard to find some of the animated reviews, Thus this group was created
