The hardest question and the most important one in a life or death situation.. Who will you call?? Justice League or the Avengers?? I find it I can't decide because I will choose Justice League, But that's because I have seen the animated series which was great.. But I have only seen the first animated movie of Avengers and I did not see Spider-man or Wolverine in it. I still need to know my Avengers history.. But Justice League has the big three, Batman,Superman and Wonder Woman. But Spider-man,Wolverine,Ghost Rider and Ms.Marvel are at the Avengers! Man this is hard..
Put me down for JLA. I grew up on tons of DC animated cartoons and Bruce Timm just put the icing on the cake. All that lead me to get into comics. I couldn't really get into the Marvel universe as well no matter how cool the characters and some of the story arcs are.
By the way, all the new direct to DVD Marvel stuff has been pretty much crap so far.
If a comic wants my attention you gotta have a tv show. That's why I know a lot about the justice league members (Question,Stargirl,Green Arrow,Huntres etc.) Marvel does not have that.. I saw the first movie but the ending suck. I don't hate Marvel's animated series ( I Love X-men:Evolution) But DC kicks marvel's ass because they are the only ones who had different tv show that they later put together and created something big (U see.. first came Batman,Then Superman.. and then Justice League.crossing over at times with Static Show and Batman Beyond and creating Legion of Superheroes.Impressive.. Marvel will never have that.. just look where they show about Iron Man,X-men and Spider-man are...
I think that while many would weigh out the pros and cons of both sides many forget that there is one inherent flaw with all superheros. The fact that they are all heroes! This means that even if they show up to save your life both sides will cause millions in property damage only to capture the supervillain and hold them just so they can get out again and start up new plot lines. This ultimately makes both sides incompetent of detaining anybody outside the average purse snatcher. I think if I had to choose someone to back me and mine up, it would have to be the Saint of all Killers from The Preacher series. In all likely hood He'll kill me just for fun but that doesn't matter because after that everything within range of his guns is dead along with me and that makes me feel good. But getting Back to the question I would Pick from the Two JLA but not the cartoon one. The JLA that appers in Kingdom Come.
The JLA are the cream of the crop, the best heroes their universe can offer...and their main purpose is the handle the worst threats out there. They may not be the most powerful, but after years of experience they are easily the most effective..
The Avengers is a disfunctional team of soloists that band together in a rough 'gentlemen's club' setting and handle threats usually of a nation scale. Theyare often broken up (like recently) but internal issues they NEVER really resolve.
Fuck the Avengers, and Fuck Marvel
Hell, Fuck the JLA
I vote for the Authority...heroes that take out the problem BEFORE it happens.
Avengers. My major problem with JLA is that I believe that Batman shouldn't be apart of it. I believe that Batman shouldn't fight aliens or deal with a national or worldwide crisis. He is at his best when alone in Gotham fighting the scum of the underworld. Also I think Avengers are more interesting.
Yes,Triathlon,Silverclaw...or god help us Demolition Man had such amazing stories. Please. Bats is one of the smartest men in the world and easily one of the most effective....and yet he has the WEAKEST villain roster. (Yes, Joker is weak, a pussy. I said it. Deal. When laughing boy threatens the planet every time he shows up and not having to steal someone else's power to do it, come back and talk.) So the JLA is the only real place he can use his abilities to the fullest. In Gothom, he's kinda wasted.
Besides, as I have posted....Authority trumps both these groups easily.
JLA would totally be overkill for any problems I expect to face... and Hawkman just looks tacky...and there are some fine-ass females in Mighty Avengers right now.
I was just wondering if any of you have some good Asian film recommendations?. Anything goes, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, animated, live action, any genre. Preferably obsurities.
Lines of Glory is a mockumentary written/directed/produced by Zack Abramowitz (Losers/Zack & Michael) and myself. It's about a cult-film director, Jack Gattanella, who is in production on his latest opus, 'Crest of Senses', and his bewildered cast...
Time flows by very fast. We are at December of 2009 and we are nearly at the end of the decade. What a decade has it been. We started off worrying about the end of civilization with the Millennium prophecy only to end up worrying about the 2012 ...
